School Counselor Gets 8 Years for Sex with Students
(Maywood, Illinois) In June, mid-thirties former private school counselor and married mother of three small children, Kathy Miraglia, was charged with engaging in sex with two teenage special education students. About the same time, Miraglia's husband filed for divorce alleging adultery, mental cruelty and physical abuse.
Last month, Miraglia was found guilty by Maywood Court Associate Judge Gilbert J. Grossi of two counts of criminal sexual abuse and eight counts of criminal sexual assault. According to testimony, Miraglia shared booze and marijuana with the victims.
Yesterday, Miraglia was sentenced to eight years in prison. Reportedly, she fainted when the sentence was read.
