(Niagara Falls) A 12-year-old Ohio girl was scalped at a go-kart track.
From TheStar.com:
Emergency crews found the girl "with extensive injuries to her head" at Niagara Go-Karts and Mini Putt at about 5:20 p.m., Niagara Regional Police Sgt. Jim Moody said. The girl was airlifted to a Rochester hospital where she's in critical condition. Her name wasn't released.
"She was enjoying some of the go-kart rides (when) her long hair became entangled in the axle mechanism of the go-kart," Moody said. "It's been reported that she has had her scalp removed from her skull, from the eyebrow area, right back."
Now, we need to know if there were signs at the go-kart track warning people of the hazards of long hair and loose fitting clothing. If not, the track owners may be negligent. Incidents of this nature are preventable.
