Two Women Accused of Child Sex Abuse
(Fairbanks, Alaska) Two Alaskan women, Lisa Huff and Miklene Gilligan, have been charged for alleged child sexual abuse in two separate high-profile cases and, ostensibly to protect the victims, the media have been excluded from attending the criminal proceedings. However, general information is known.
Lisa Huff, 36, was accused of repeated sexual abuse of a boy earlier this year and fled to Australia in June, attempting to avoid prosecution. Troopers arrested her last Tuesday after being notified that she had returned to Fairbanks. Huff was then formally charged with two counts of first-degree sexual abuse of a minor and one count of second-degree child sexual abuse. She is being held with bail set at $50,000.
Miklene Gilligan, 34, was arrested for allegedly being observed performing oral sex on a 13-year-old boy in August. She faces one count of second-degree sexual abuse of a minor. Bail set at $25,000.
Media representatives were barred from Huff's proceedings by Fairbanks District Court Magistrate Patrick Hammers. Gilligan's proceedings were closed by Superior Court Judge Douglas Blankenship.
