(Dubai, United Arab Emirates) Last night at 1915 GMT, an American nuclear-powered fast-attack submarine, USS Newport News, collided with the Japanese oil tanker, Mogamigawa, in the Straits of Hormuz. No injuries were reported and damage is being assessed. No leakage of oil was reported.
Both vessels are seaworthy.
