Teacher Fingered for Foster Kid Sex

A female English teacher at Frederick Hartnett Middle School has been suspended from her job amid police charges that she repeatedly sexually assaulted a male foster child in her care, police and other sources say.

Donna Giguere, 38, of 4 Susan Drive, was arraigned in Uxbridge District Court Wednesday, after which Judge Paul A. Losapio promptly imposed a gag order covering all records in the case upon the request of Worcester District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.'s office. A clerk who produced a copy of the so-called impoundment order said Giguere is free on $50,000 surety bail, or $5,000 cash, but she refused to release any other information.

Giguere faces charges of indecent assault and battery of child under 14, indecent assault and battery of child 14 and older, and statutory rape of a child. The alleged sexual episodes occurred between March 2003 and October 2004 and not on school grounds.

One other item, Giguere is the teacher's maiden name. She also goes by Donna Kunz.
