(Las Cruces, New Mexico) A 21-year-old Las Cruces woman, Ashley E. Serna, has been arrested for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy she met at the Mesilla Valley Mall. Serna has been charged with four counts of third-degree criminal sexual penetration.
Serna reportedly admitted to the sex and has hinted to police that she is pregnant. She apparently knew that the age of consent in New Mexico is 16 because she forewarned the boy that "things could get bad real quick" if they were caught.
Serna is in custody at the Dona Ana County Detention Center on with bond set at $20,000.
