(Bellevue, Kentucky) A 31-year-old social studies teacher at Bellevue High School, Melissa Melugin, was suspended Wednesday as police and school officials investigate whether she exchanged sexually explicit messages with a male student.According to Bellevue Police Chief Bill Cole, the allegations largely center around one 12th-grade student and Melugin.
"The one student's name that keeps coming up is 18, so even if there was (sexual contact with him), there may not be any violation of the statutes," Cole said.Bellevue High School Principal Mike Wills acted immediately by sending out a letter of explanation to parents of Thursday.
"But, without a doubt there was inappropriate communication between the teacher and at least one student. Some was sexual in nature, while some of the other communication was very dark, with references to suicide and other dark things . . . that parents certainly wouldn't want taking place."

The student was 18 years old, so criminal charges will not be filed.
However the school's investigation continues, and it's not clear if it will take disciplinary action.

i know this teacher.. the note that was found that told you what happen had stated that if the 18 year old had sex with this teacher she is just too scared to admit that her daughter might not be her husbands! sincerly: ex student
