Killer SUV

(Anaheim, California) Slanted reporting? You make the call.

From LATimes:
SUV hits light pole in Anaheim; girl is ejected and dies, 5 teens hurt

A girl was killed Saturday after being ejected from a sport utility vehicle in which she and five other teenagers were riding as it crashed into a concrete light pole in Anaheim, a police spokesman said.
So, six riders, but no driver, were in an SUV that crashed, killing one person and injuring five.

Buried in the last paragraph, however, it is reported that the SUV was actually being driven by a 17-year-old male. Surely I'm being picky, but it would be more important to know some details of the crash and the abilities of the driver than the type of vehicle involved. For example, what were the weather and road conditions? Was the driver distracted or impaired?

But, no! Instead of telling us why the driver ran his vehicle into a pole, the primary emphasis of the report is that an SUV crashed and killed a girl. Obviously, the SUV is responsible and the elite media have made it a drumbeat by regularly headlining SUVs as the cause of crashes.

I suppose it's pure fantasy to expect "Prius hits pole, girl dies!"
