(Downey, California) Last month, a 53-year-old special ed teacher's assistant at Downey High School, Jean Panzo-Montalbano, was arrested for engaging in sex with a 16-year-old boy. Panzo-Montalbano worked for a county-wide special program which placed her in contact with the boy whom she allegedly raped at various locations, including his home. The Downey Police Department was alerted to the situation by the victim.
Yesterday, Panzo-Montalban pleaded not guilty in Downey Superior Court to six felony counts of unlawful sexual intercourse and one felony count of oral copulation of a person under 18. She remains free on bail with a court date scheduled for June 5th.
