Dog Smacked Hard, Eye Pops Out

(Phoenix, Arizona) Sun City West veterinarian Dr. Joshua Winston was arrested for smacking the bejeezus out of a five-pound Chihuahua five times in the head, temporarily blinding one eye of the dog. According to a statement from the Maricopa County Sheriff's office, Winston was observed by two other veterinary techs when he dislodged the dog's eye.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio said the dog has a good chance of regaining its eyesight. Wilson faces animal cruelty charges.

"We don't give them (animal abusers) a court summons, we take them to jail," Arpaio said.

Heh. Nothing namby-pamby about Sheriff Joe. Given a reason, he'll put anybody in jail.
