(Tyler, Texas) Here's an odd case. A 35-year-old teacher, Jennifer Elizabeth Bagley, was accused of mixing it up with a 15-year-old female student in one school district while she continued to teach in a different school district.
There must have been a breakdown in notification.
From Chron.com:
Jennifer Elizabeth Bagley, 35, was arrested May 30 and remains in Smith County Jail on bonds totaling $100,000. She faces a charge of sexual assault of a child and a charge of improper relationship between an educator and a student. It appears that better communication is needed between law enforcers and school districts.
Bagley began the alleged sexual relationship in 2004 when she was working in the Bullard school district, Smith County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Randy Meadows said.
A Smith County grand jury indicted Bagley on May 3. Her last day of substituting for the Tyler school district was May 24, according to school records.
The school district was unaware of the indictments until May 30, said Angela Jenkins, the communications director for Tyler schools.
