Prison for Woman in Child Sex Case

(Bentonville, Arkansas) In November 2006, Carolynn A. Hayes was charged with engaging in sex with a 13-year-old boy and buying alcohol and cigarettes for him and other youths.

Hayes was arraigned on charges of sexual assault and contributing to the delinquency of a minor before Benton County Senior Circuit Judge Tom Keith.

This week, 37-year-old Hayes pleaded guilty to felony sexual assault and four misdemeanor counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor in accordance with a plea agreement. Deputy Prosecutor Stephanie McLemore dropped a charge of providing tobacco to minors.

Benton County Circuit Judge David Clinger then sentenced Hayes to 12 years in prison and ordered her to complete sex offender treatment while incarcerated. After her release, Hayes must serve an eight-year suspended sentence and register as a sex offender.
