Woman Sentenced for Soliciting Boy

(Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) In September 2006, a woman from Parkville, Missouri, Monica Reiko Watson, was arrested by the FBI on a complaint of traveling across state lines for the purpose of engaging or attempting to engage in illicit sex. Watson allegedly solicited sex from an undercover officer who posed as a 15-year-old boy.

According to the FBI, the boy's parents alerted the authorities after discovering that their then 14-year-old son was receiving inappropriate communications from an adult woman. A detective then assumed the identity of the boy and continued the communications with Watson.

Since her arrest, 43-year-old Watson has pleaded guilty to enticing a minor through a computer and traveling between states with the intent to engage in sexual conduct with a minor. Subsequently, Watson was sentenced to five years in prison. She is currently serving her time in a federal penitentiary in Florida.
