Tainted Persian Food at Chicago Fair
(Chicago, Illinois) As most people are aware, this year's Taste of Chicago event was marred by over 500 people getting sick from eating tainted food from the Pars Cove Persian Cuisine food booth. At least 17 people have been hospitalized. Health Department testing is ongoing with preliminary results on 50 people pointing to Salmonella Heidelberg.
The source of the bacteria is still under investigation. The Health Department has inspected the Persian Cuisine food booth and interviewed food handlers. Thus far, the cause is unknown. Maybe Persia should to be inspected. Oh, wait a minute. Inspectors aren't allowed in Persia.
