Teacher Gets Probation for Sex Crimes
(Valparaiso, Indiana) In June 2005, a teacher's aide in a special education class at Hebron High School, Amber K. Marshall, was charged with multiple felonies for having sexual intercourse and performing oral sex on two male students, ages 14 and 15. Ultimately, Marshall faced sex crimes charges in two Indiana counties, Porter and Lake.
Last May, 24-year-old Amber Marshall pleaded guilty to two counts of felony sexual misconduct with a minor as part of a agreement with the prosecution.
Yesterday, the plea deal was accepted by Porter County Superior Court Judge Roger Bradford and he sentenced Marshall to six years suspended and probation. She was ordered to have no contact with her victims, however, she will not have to register as a sex offender.
Prosecutor Cheryl Polarek and defense attorney Richard Wolter indicated to the court that Marshall has been most cooperative and has turned her life around. Marshall expressed regret and sorrow for her actions.
The status of Marshall's legal troubles in Lake County is unknown.

This is crazy. This woman sexually assaults a 14 year old and a 15 year old special education boys and she is NOT sentenced as a sex offender. She doesn't even get jail time. If the teacher was male and the victims female the teacher would go to jail and be a registered sex offender. What kind of double standard crap is this. She is a sex offender. No doubt. The prosecutor and the judge really screwed up on this one..
