(Noblesville, Indiana) A 2006 graduate of Westfield High School, Laura Wilcox, 19, pleaded guilty Thursday to one count of felony sexual misconduct for engaging in sex with a 15-year-old boy.
The sexual episode occurred in February 2006 when Wilcox, then 18, drove the 15-year-old to his home and was invited inside. They then had sex.
Notably, Wilcox's offense predates a recent change in Indiana law which decriminalizes sex between dating teens if their difference in ages is within four years. Under the new law, Wilcox would have faced no charges.
Wilcox is scheduled to be sentenced on August 14th in Hamilton County Court. It's expected that she will receive a suspended sentence in accordance with the plea deal.
