$8,000 for Fossilized Penis
No, this isn't a report about Hugh Hefner.
(Beverly Hills, California) There's quite a bit of buzz about the sale at auction of a fossilized walrus penis for $8,000. The four and one-half foot long bone was sold to the company that owns the Ripley's Believe It or Not museums. Observers predicted that it would sell for at least $12,000.
The penis came from a species of walrus that went extinct about 12,000 years ago and it was found frozen and well-preserved in the Siberian permafrost.
If one does the math, the penis was sold for about $150 per inch which, I agree, is low. It sounds more like a rental price, not a sale price. Inquire within.
