(Sheboygan, Wisconsin) A 30-year-old man discovered a 17-year-old boy molesting an 8-year-old girl and commenced beating him. The girl's 27-year-old mother arrived and broke up the fight. The 30-year-old man left. After learning what the fight was about, the 27-year-old mother grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the 17-year-old boy several times.
Police arrived and arrested the 27-year-old mother for stabbing the boy. The 17-year-old boy underwent surgery for stab wounds to his arm and leg then was jailed for molesting the 8-year-old girl.
Police said the teen does not live in the apartment where the assault took place but is related to some of its residents. The 27-year-old mother is facing charges of recklessly endangering safety and substantial battery. She was released from jail on Friday after posting a $25,000 signature bond. An August 27th court appearance has been scheduled.
The teen is in jail on a probation hold from a February conviction for having sex with a 15-year-old girl. He was given a deferred prosecution agreement in that case under which he was convicted of misdemeanor fourth-degree sexual assault but the original felony second-degree sexual assault was to be dismissed if he avoided further charges, police said.
The deferred prosecution agreement would likely be voided if the teen is charged in the Thursday incident, meaning he would face sentencing of up to 25 years in prison on the 2006 charge in addition to the new charges.
In the previous case, the boy was accused of forcing himself on the girl while the two were in a car together during a lunch break from classes at Sheboygan North High School.
The 30-year-old man was not arrested.
