School Worker Guilty of Theft

(Cleveland, Ohio) A 46-year-old bookkeeper at St. Joseph Academy, Colleen Kempf, pleaded guilty Wednesday morning to felony theft for stealing $490,000 from the all-girls school. The thievery occurred over a five-year period by Kempf altering the financial books to cover up the stolen funds.

Kempf is scheduled to be sentenced on September 10th. She faces a possible five years in prison.

What is hard to understand is how she could filch almost one-half million dollars before someone noticed. Her boss must have been looking the other way.
