(Geneva, Switzerland) Canada and Iran had heated words yesterday at a meeting of the UN Human Rights Council. Iran's envoy, A. Eshragh Jahromi, asserted:
"Human rights violations include social exclusion policies, blatant racism and racial discrimination, police brutality, unlawful detention, torture and deaths in custody, violence against women and children and indigenous people, who are being treated as second class ... by the Canadian government," Jahromi said.Despite anything the Canadians are doing, I think Iran is the last country that should be complaining.
What can we expect next? Michael Vick complaining that dogs are being eaten in Zimbabwe?
