(Genesee County, New York) A 44-year-old nurse and former Sunday school teacher, Deborah Knauber, has been sentenced by Genesee County Judge Robert C. Noonan to one to three years in state prison for raping her 13-year-old foster son. In August, a jury found Knauber guilty of second degree rape, criminal sexual conduct in the second degree, and sexual abuse for molesting the boy on three separate occasions in 2006.
Knauber maintains that she is innocent and plans to appeal. She will be required to register as a sex offender.
