Skull-Smashing Mom Gets Prison
(Erie, Pennsylvania) In October 2007, a 28-year-old mother-of-five, Chytoria Graham, was convicted by an Erie County Common Pleas Court jury of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, simple assault and child endangerment for breaking her 4-month-old son's skull.
Graham swung her baby, Jarron, like a baseball bat during a fight she had with her boyfriend in October 2006. The infant suffered brain bleeding and bruising and, fortunately, recovered.
This week, Graham was sentenced to five to 10 years in prison. Attorney James Pitonyak stated that Graham intends to appeal her conviction.
