Babysitter Accused in Death of Baby

(Arapahoe County, Colorado) A 27-year-old babysitter, Yvette Nicole Craddock, was arrested this week for allegedly causing the death of an 8-month-old boy by abuse.

According to Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson, a deputy responded to a call in December and found the boy, Rashad Maxey, unconscious, not breathing and without a pulse.
The deputy began CPR until the Cunningham Fire Department arrived. The infant was transported by helicopter to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead the next day, Robinson said.

The Sheriff's Office has been investigating the death ever since, he said.

The Colorado Department of Human Services also is investigating the circumstances of Rashad's death because his home had been visited by social workers before his death.
Craddock was booked into custody at the Arapahoe County Detention Facility with bond set at $150,000.

This case may represent the first exposure of a much larger problem. Exactly what is unknown but it's more than curious that, according to the Denver Post, 12 other children have died after visits by Colorado Department of Human Services social workers.
