According to SC Highway Patrol Cpl. Paul Brouthers, the personal injury was minor.
Brouthers said Specht was off duty and driving her own vehicle when she struck the back of another vehicle on I-26 at about 1:05 a.m. She left the scene and was stopped by North Charleston police minutes later on Rivers Avenue, authorities said.Being drunk at 1 AM and causing and leaving an accident will not likely be a resume enhancement for Sprecht. Given that she works in law enforcement, one would think that she would know better.
Specht was released Sunday afternoon from the Charleston County Detention Center after posting a $992 bond on the DUI charge. She also received a $5,000 personal recognizance bond on the second charge of leaving the scene.
