Florida Mom, Boy Sought in Sex Case

(Pensacola, Florida) A 28-year-old local mother, Angela Leavitt, is being sought by law enforcement authorities for unlawful sex with a 16-year-old boy with whom she apparently went into hiding this week.

According to Sheriff's Office spokesman Sgt. Scott Haines,

Investigators suspect the pair had sex three times, including once at Leavitt's home, the Sheriff's Office said.

The Sheriff's Office began an investigation after a complaint was filed May 27. Haines would not say who filed the complaint.

Haines said Leavitt and the teenager were interviewed by investigators sometime after the complaint was filed. He would not say what Leavitt and the teenager told investigators.

Haines said investigators contacted Leavitt again after a warrant was issued for her arrest.

"She acted like she was going to turn herself in, and now she is gone," Haines said.

Leavitt, a resident of Chuckwagon Lane, is wanted on a felony charge of unlawful sexual activity with a minor.

A $1,000 reward has been offered for information leading to an arrest.
