Senior Pummeled in Rent Dispute

(Prescott, Arizona) A 36-year-old woman, Heather Marie Bruner, was arrested this past weekend for allegedly assaulting her boyfriend's 69-year-old mother. Bruner faces charges of disorderly conduct and intentional injury to another.

According to Yavapai County Sheriff's spokesman Dwight D'Evelyn, the alleged assault occurred Saturday.
Deputies determined that Bruner, who admitted to alcohol consumption during the day, punched the woman once in the head, leaving visible bruise and knuckle marks, he said.

Bruner had claimed that she was punched and pushed by the woman during a dispute over rent money that the boyfriend owed for their Peoria home, D'Evelyn said.
Bruner was booked into custody at the Yavapai County Jail.

Interestingly, some jurisdictions tack on additional charges when a senior citizen is attacked. Apparently, Arizona isn't one of them.
