Spotted Owl Loses Ground

(Grants Pass, Oregon) The spotted owl is losing some of the territory reserved for its pleasure.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service said Tuesday it would cut by 23 percent the federal forest land designated as critical habitat for the owl in Washington, Oregon and Northern California.
Expect the environmentalists to start hooting about this action. Advocates contend that the action is contrary to the advice of "leading scientists."
