(Titusville, Florida) A 67-year-old most-wanted fugitive, David Lee Green, was arrested at a Florida rehab center after U.S. Marshals received a tip generated by the America's Most Wanted television program.
"He is a notorious-gangster type. He is one of the worst of the worst," Deputy U.S. Marshal Jimmy Disbrow told Local 6 news partner Florida Today.A fingerprint match confirmed Green's identity.
Green has been on the run since June 2000, when he escaped from a Federal Correctional Institution in Elkton, Ohio, where he was serving a 20-year sentence for cocaine distribution, according to information released by the Brevard County Sheriff's Office.
He was described as the kingpin of a narcotics organization and also wanted for possession of a machine gun by the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Department in Georgia.
