Counselor Arrested for Sexual Exploitation of Boy

(Ottumwa, Iowa) A 32-year-old addiction counselor, Diane Kathleen Oliver, was arrested for the alleged sexual exploitation of a 16-year-old boy.

Oliver was employed by Woodlands Residential Facility in Burlington Iowa in Oct. of 2007 when the juvenile was admitted to the in-patient drug and alcohol facility.

Authorities allege that over the course of the boy’s treatment and after his release, Oliver engaged in a sexual relationship with the teen.

Included in the court records were love notes written by Oliver to the boy. One of the notes ended “But when we’re together talking is so not what I want to do.”

Records also indicated that Oliver conspired to continue the relationship even after it was discovered by the boy’s parents.

Oliver was booked into custody and later released on $5,000 bond.
