Unclaimed Toddler Found in Illegal Alien Bust

(Phoenix, Arizona) Here's a sad story and a mystery.

A 2-year-old unclaimed child was found early Saturday in a van containing 12 illegal immigrants, Maricopa County sheriff’s deputies said.

A Maricopa County sheriff's deputy noticed a white Chevy passenger van make an abrupt u-turn at 43rd and Broadway avenues and when they pulled the van over, they found inside 12 illegal immigrants inside.

When they probed a little deeper, they also discovered a 2-year-old girl wedged in between some adults.

"I'm gravely concerned at the possibility that this child could have been kidnapped in Mexico and is being transported for sale here in the United States," Sheriff Joe Arpaio said.

A kidnapping sounds somewhat logical because it's difficult to imagine that parents would abandon a two-year-old. However, the little girl might be an orphan, treated as property for sale to the highest bidder.
