(Bristol, England) For over 100 years, the Broad Plain Boys' Club has operated to help young men develop. Unfortunately, in this era of political correctness, the club has been accused of not meeting equality standards. The name must be changed.
The leader, Dennis Stinchcombe, who was made an MBE for his work, has been warned that unless he changes the club's name the authority will withdraw the £11,600-a-year funding it receives for two paid staff to work alongside volunteers. [...]So, one by one, the institutions and traditions of the once-great British Empire are being eliminated.
Council officials want the club, which has been held up as one of the best examples in the country of how to help young men develop, to change its name to the Working with Young People Club.
