Woman Gets Community Service in Child Sex Case
(Westport, Washington) Last July, a 25-year-old married mother, Sarah M. Credeur, was arrested for allegedly raping a 15-year-old neighbor boy. Reportedly, Credeur was having marital difficulties and sought solace in the arms of the adolescent. She said she "had not been thinking clearly."
Since Credeur was admittedly distraught and the sexual relationship with the boy was fleeting, prosecutor Katie Svoboda reduced the charge from third-degree child rape to communicating with a minor for immoral purposes.
This week, Credeur pleaded guilty to the lesser charge and was sentenced by Judge David Edwards to 30 days of community service.
Credeur was also ordered to register as a sex offender and be evaluated for sexual deviancy.
