(Brownsville, Texas) A 35-year-old reading teacher at Faulk Middle School, Eloisa Suarez Betancourt, was arrested last night by Brownsville Police for allegedly stabbing her husband, Antonio Suarez, repeatedly.
Eloisa was wanted on a warrant out of Medina County for the stabbing which occurred last week. She faces one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The incident took place Jan. 9, at a construction site at the intersection of Medina County roads 471 and 211 where the husband works, said Sheriff's Department Chief Deputy Doug Christian.Eloisa was booked into custody at the Cameron County Jail.
Authorities report the couple was involved in an argument and an altercation ensued. Eloisa Suarez reportedly stabbed her husband in the neck and chest area before turning the knife on herself. She received stab wounds to the chest and stomach area.
Both had been transported to San Antonio area hospitals.
