Virginia Woman Indicted for Sex with Boy

(Winchester, Virginia) A 35-year-old former social worker, Deirdre Rae Noggle, has been indicted by a Frederick County grand jury for sex crimes against a teenage boy. Noggle faces six felony counts of taking indecent liberties with a boy under 18 with whom she had a custodial or supervisory relationship.

Noggle allegedly exposed herself to the boy, proposed that he expose himself to her and proposed the boy commit an act of sexual intercourse. The alleged episodes occurred between August 2008 and January 2009.
Noggle was a social worker with the Winchester Department of Social Services at the time of the alleged offenses, according to Frederick County Commonwealth's Attorney Glenn Williamson. The boy, who was 17 at the time, was under the custodial care of the city agency, he said. The incidents did not happen at Noggle's home, Williamson said.

Sharen Gromling, the city's director for administration, confirmed Monday that Noggle worked for the Department of Social Services within the past year, but is no longer employed by the agency.
Judge John Prosser set bond at $10,000 and scheduled a court appearance for April 17.
