California Teacher Accused of Lewd Acts with Boy

(Union City, California) A 38-year-old teacher at Cesar Chavez Middle School, Kristina Anna Baeta, was arrested this week for allegedly engaging in an inappropriate relationship with a 13-year-old male student. Baeta faces several counts of lewd acts with a child.

Relatives of the boy alerted authorities. Baeta has been placed on administrative leave by the school system.

Baeta teaches special education but school officials said that her alleged victim was not a special education student.
