NJ Student-Teacher Accused of Sex with Boy
[Previous 4/3/09 post]
(Frankford, New Jersey) A 23-year-old student-teacher at Frankford Elementary School, Lindsay Massaro, was arrested this week for engaging in a week-long sexual relationship with a male student. A Centenary College student, Massaro reportedly struck up the relationship on March 21 and ended it last Saturday.

Massaro faces charges of second-degree sexual assault, third-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and fourth-degree criminal sexual contact.
Massaro is accused of committing "acts of sexual penetration and sexual contact with the intimate parts of a minor male," according to information provided by the Sussex County Prosecutor's office.

According to Superintendent Braden Hirsch, Massaro was in charge of schooling eighth-grade students on a myriad of subjects. Officials say she was working toward getting her state teaching certificate in special education.

Massaro was arrested Monday following a probe by police, but it is not clear if police tracked her down at the elementary school, which serves student grades K-8.
Centenary College VP Debra Albanese said Massaro's arrest is unfortunate and uncommon and the college is taking the incident seriously.

Massaro was booked into the county jail and later released on $75,000 bond. She was ordered to stay away from kids and get a psychological evaluation. A court appearance has been scheduled for May 4.
