Taliban Claims Responsibility for Binghamton Massacre

Pakistani Taliban leader Baitullah Mehsud is taking credit for the massacre at the American Civic Center in Binghamton yesterday during which 13 people died. He said:
"I accept responsibility. They were my men. I gave them orders in reaction to U.S. drone attacks," Baituallah Mehsud told Reuters by telephone from an undisclosed location on Saturday."
Reportedly, the perpetrator of the massacre was a Vietnamese immigrant which could mean that he has ties to Jemaah Islamiyah, the southeast Asian terrorist group known to have ties with al-Qaeda and, by extension, the Taliban.

Nonetheless, I'm skeptical that the Taliban initiated the Binghamton episode without additional information. A Pak security expert said Mehsud took credit only to gain publicity. We'll see.
