WV Teacher Gets Prison for Growing Marijuana

(Point Pleasant, West Virginia) In January 2009, a 46-year-old teacher formerly at New Haven Elementary School, Kathryn Ann Hemetek, was convicted of manufacturing marijuana.

As a result, she was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Chuck Chambers to five years in federal prison.
Hemetek was a teacher at New Haven Elementary School when she was arrested by State Police troopers in July 2005.

The State Police says troopers found more than 200 marijuana plants on Hemetek's farm during an annual eradication sweep.
Hemetek will serve her time at Alderson Federal Prison Camp.
