American actress, pop culture icon and sex symbol Farrah Fawcett died in the intensive care unit of Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica, California, today of cancer. She was 62.For the last few years, Fawcett has fought anal cancer which was first diagnosed in 2006.
In April 2009, she was rushed to the hospital, reportedly unconscious and in critical condition. Subsequently, it was reported that the cancer had metastasized to her liver. All the while, Fawcett was watched over by her long-time companion, actor Ryan O'Neal.
