Naming Rights to College Courses For Sale
(San Francisco, California) Chancellor Don Griffin of the City College of San Francisco offered to sell naming rights for individual college courses to anyone willing to pony up $6,000 but he failed to check with the Board of Trustees first. Hilarity ensued.
"Public education is not for sale," said Milton Marks, president of the board. Nonetheless, the idea doesn't appear to have died completely. Jawbones continue to flap.
Therefore, don't be surprised to see a course catalog featuring Women's Studies, sponsored by Starkist Dolphin-Free Tuna, or Accounting Principles, sponsored by Full-Tilt Poker, or Human Anatomy, sponsored by Omaha Steaks.
Heh.
