Tennessee Teacher Liquors Up Minors

(Elizabethton, Tennessee) A 37-year-old former city pool director and current teacher at Elizabethton High School, Aimee N. Richardson, pleaded guilty last Friday to contributing to the delinquency of a minor and furnishing alcohol to a minor in accordance with a plea agreement.

As a result, Richardson was fined $25 on each of the two counts and ordered to serve one year of probation.
The charges stem from an after-hours party at the city pool in early July. The Elizabethton Police investigated the party after receiving complaints that alcohol had been served. Eight of the participants at the party were between the ages of 17 and 20. None have been prosecuted following the investigation.

Capt. Mike Merritt of the police department said Richardson was interviewed July 7 and admitted to purchasing beer at Food City and providing alcoholic beverages to the eight young women and girls, knowing they were underage.
Richardson may ultimately apply for expungement of her record. She still faces possible administrative action by the Elizabethton School Board.
