A British Member of Parliament, Daniel Hannan, was asked why the Brits don't scrap their troublesome National Health System. He answered,
"... because it has become such a huge system ... We have 1.4 million people employed by a national health -- the third biggest employer in the world after the red army in China and the Indian national railways. Most of those 1.4 million people are administrators. That the managers outnumber the doctors -- is the electoral bloc that makes it almost impossible to get rid of --"People on the dole will always vote for the dole. "Don't bite the hand that feeds you" to repeat a cliché. It's welfare state politics and I contend it's the goal of Democrat politicians.
National health care is the asphalt on the road to serfdom.
