(Boise, Idaho) A planned two-megawatt electric generating plant powered by cow manure has been approved by the Public Utilities Commission. The plant owner, Cargill Inc., will use poop from the 10,000-cow Bettencourt Dairy in southern Idaho and supply electricity to Idaho Power Co.
Similar plans have been announced for other notable poop producers including Washington, Oregon, New Mexico, California, Texas, New York and Indiana.
