Michigan Mom Gets Prison for Sex with Son - Updated

(Pontiac, Michigan) Thirty-six-year-old Aimee Louise Sword pleaded guilty today to engaging in sex with her 14-year-old son after tracking him down via Facebook. He had been given up for adoption as a baby.

As result of her conviction, Oakland Circuit Judge Daniel P. O'Brien sentenced Sword to nine years in prison.

Sword expressed remorse.

"I want to apologize to the court, my children and my sister," Sword told O'Brien. "I am remorseful for everything that occurred. ... I don't understand it."

Assistant Prosecutor Nicki Weisberger described Sword as committing a "selfish, cowardly, despicable act" with the boy, now 16.

At a preliminary exam in January, the teenager testified she contacted him in 2008 while he was living with an adoptive family in Grand Rapids. Sex acts later occurred at a motel and at the home of one of Sword's relatives in Waterford Township.

Sadly, Sword has five other children and their lives are going to be stained by mom's behavior. My heart goes out to those kids.

(Oakland, Michigan) Thirty-six-year-old Aimee Louise Sword has pleaded guilty to tracking down and engaging in sex with her long-lost son.

According to the plea agreement, Sword pleaded guilty to one count of criminal sexual conduct while two counts were dropped.

Police say Sword used the Internet in 2008 to find her biological son, whom she had given up for adoption more than 10 years before. The 16-year-old boy testified at a preliminary exam in January that Sword had sex with him in Grand Rapids and Waterford.

Sentencing is scheduled for September 12.

(Oakland, Michigan) A 35-year-old woman, Aimee Louise Sword, has been accused of engaging in sex with her teenage biological son she gave up for adoption a decade ago.

Police say that she surrendered on April 24th, after Child Protective Services reported the abuse to detectives. She has been charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct in the case.

Sword’s lawyer says his client maintains her “presumption of innocence,” and that the accusations have been very difficult for her.

Reportedly, Sword traced down her son via the Internet and, when she found him, commenced seducing him.

Sword was booked and released on bail.
