(Manchester, England) Early this morning, around 40 officers from the North West Counter Terrorism Unit raided at least four properties in the Greater Manchester area. Five men have been arrested and further arrests are possible.
The 4 AM raids were conducted by unarmed officers who now are searching the properties. Police said the raids are related to an alleged overseas terror threat and not due to any danger in the Greater Manchester area. The names of the arrested suspects have not been released.
Police said it was a "low-key operation." Heh, I disagree. If the feds roust my pristine glutes out of the sack at 4 AM, I'd be pretty keyed-up.
