House Votes Money for COPS

(Washington) By a vote of 342-78, the House of Representatives approved spending $1.8 billion a year for five years on the Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) grant program. The legislation next goes to the Senate.

Police departments from everywhere are applying for the funds which are reported to be enough to hire 10,000 beat cops.

I suspect there will be some jobs created.
