(Indianapolis, Indiana) This week, former high school girls' basketball coach Sara Strahm pleaded guilty to felony child seduction stemming from engaging in a sexual relationship with one of her players.
Strahm previously told investigators that she loved the 17-year-old girl.
Strahm was sentenced to 365 days in prison, with 185 suspended and 180 executed on home detention. She was also ordered to complete 240 hours of community service work.I suggest it's indisputable that Strahm is walking away with a wrist-slap.
The Marion County Prosecutor's Office said Strahm will be on probation for 185 days and must undergo sex offender treatment.[…]
Her felonies will be reduced to misdemeanors if she successfully completes probation.
Thanks to Lame for the tip who also asks, "What's the use in prosecuting her?"
For comparison purposes, a male teacher in Ohio, Christopher Thomas, was recently sentenced to 153 years in prison for sex with a female student.

(Indianapolis, Indiana) A 28-year-old special education teacher and basketball coach, Sara Strahm, was arrested Friday for alleged child seduction of a 17-year-old girl.
School officials alerted the police after allegations of sexual misconduct surfaced.
Police said Strahm had been in a relationship with the girl since this fall.Strahm was booked into custody at the Arrestee Processing Center and released Saturday on $5,000 bond.
"The child seduction charge is based on the fact that the coach is in a position of trust because she was involved in a sexual relationship with a student under the age of 18," Thompson said.
Strahm, a special education teacher at the school, is the varsity girls' basketball coach.
