Indiana Teacher Arrested for Fraud

(Terre Haute, Indiana) A 38-year-old special education teacher at Woodrow Wilson Middle School, Elizabeth Sollars, has been arrested for fraud after allegedly trying to fill a phony prescription for pain pills. Sollars has been charged with fraud and possession of a controlled substance.
Sollars was arrested at about 7:15 p.m. Sunday at the Walgreens at 13th Street and Wabash Avenue after she allegedly tried to fill a bogus prescription for hydrocodone in the pharmacy drive-through.

Detective Doug Bensinger of the Terre Haute Police Department said that someone claiming to be from a local medical facility called in the prescription to the pharmacy, but the caller and prescription did not check out when a return call was made to the medical office.

Police were notified, and Sollars was arrested when she tried to pick up the prescription, Bensinger said.
Sollars has been placed on paid suspension from her teaching position. She was booked into custody at the Vigo County Jail and later released on her own recognizance.
