WV Jail Counselor Arrested for Drugs

(Barboursville, West Virginia) A 33-year-old counselor at Western Regional Jail, Crystal White, was arrested yesterday for allegedly smuggling marijuana into the jail. According to Cabell County Sheriff Tom McComas, White's arrest followed a K-9 search of the facility.

Deputies found one gram of marijuana in the employee’s locker. A pill crusher and a bottle of Loratabs were found in the vehicle. McComas said the employee had a prescription for the pain killer.

White was charged with felony bringing a controlled substance into a jail, McComas said.

White was booked into custody with bond set at $10,000.
