Miss England, Miss Manchester and Combat Barbie

(UK) In November 2009, the reigning Miss England, Rachel Christie, 21, got into a barroom catfight with the reigning Miss Manchester, Sara Jones, 24, over a boyfriend.

Christie, the first black Miss England, practices tae kwon do and is training for the heptathlon in the London 2012 Olympics so she made light work out of demure Sara Jones. Consequently, Christie was arrested and charged with assault.

And there's more. The blowup between Christie and Jones caused Miss England to be stripped of her crown which was then given to first runner-up Katrina Hodge, a decorated Corporal in the British Army. As a result of her military service, 22-year-old Hodge has become known as Combat Barbie.

Combat Barbie won a commendation for detaining an armed prisoner who had escaped in Basra, Iraq, and she uses her high-profile image to help recruit women into the military and to raise funds for Armed Forces charities.

For Valentine's Day, Miss Hodge has teamed with La Senza Lingerie company in a promotion to provide a 20 percent discount on sexy underwear for members of the Armed Forces.
